   ### Motivation
   
   The script that publishes the website is currently replacing the `asf-site` branch with the content that was generated in the last website build. 
   Since we need to archive the documentation for all past versions, we are going to copy the generated docs directories for each release. 
   
   The publish website should not delete these directories even though they were not generated in the last build.
