> The Kafka connector is one of the most popular connectors in Flink. The documentation has grown organically over the years as new versions and features have become supported. The page is still based on the kafka 0.8 connector with asides for newer versions. For instance, the first paragraph says "For most users, the FlinkKafkaConsumer08 (part of flink-connector-kafka) is appropriate."
> Since Kafka 1.0 was released in 2017, I believe the page should be restructured around the universal connector and Kafka(De)SerializationSchema's with clear examples.
