ODT file with colored frame with title/description
The title/description of the inserted frame (<draw:frame><draw:text-box>) is
not copied using drag&drop or copy&paste.
Steps done:
* Insert a frame with anchor char into an empty odt-document.
* Set title and description of the inserted frame
* The Frame was copied using Drag&Drop.
The title and description of the new frame was empty!
* The Frame was copied using Copy&Paste.
The title and description of the new frame was empty!

This issue is easily replicated. Tested extensively as follows:
Insert frame as character
Set title and description
Copy of frame - Failed to copy Title and Description with new frame
Drag and drop - Failed to move Title and description with frame
This confirmed Original Bug
* Found that none of the anchor methods produced a successful inclusion of the
Title and Description. In all cases, multiple colors and text were used in the
frames for content.
* frame as a character inside a frame as a character failed to include Title
and description
* Frame as character inside Frame failed to include Title and description
* Since grafics are treated as frames in Writer, I inserted graphic, added
Title and description and performed copy and paste. Title and Description were
successfully transfered with the copy.
* Added a graphic to a frame as a character. Added Title and descriptions to
both the frame as a character and the graphic frame. Copy and paste
successfully transfered both of the Titles and Descriptions.
Research showed that the Title and Description are both available for
accessibility tools and as alternative tags when exported to a document. As
time permits it may be advisable to test the tag for accessibility. My
question is if multiple frames share the same title and descrition "Tags," use
of the tag may cause conflict. Could that be the reason for not transferring
title and description?

This is a follow-up to my comment of 2015-04-21 14:41:00 UTC
This issue was easily replicated on my Windows 7 (64-bit) machine running a
core 5-2520M CPU @ 2.50GHz and 4 GB installed memory:
Steps:
1. Start Open Office Writer and a new text document (.odt)
2. Add a frame to the document
1. From menu Bar select <Insert> <Frame...>. The Frame properties box opens
2. Select the <Type> tab, In the right column under “Anchor” select the <As
character> radio button
3. Select OK
4. right click on the new frame and select <Description...>
5. Give the frame a “Title” and a “Description,” Select OK
The steps above are my standard configuration for initial test steps.
Copy and Paste:
1. Select the boarder of the new frame (Resizing dots will apear)
2. Perform a <ctrl + C> to copy
3. Perform a <ctrl + V> to paste a copy of the frame
4. Right click on new frame and view the <Description...>
The Title and Description are missing in the copied frame.
Drag and Drop:
1. Open a second Text document window
2. From window 1, select the frame and using <ctrl + Left Mouse button> Drag
the frame to window 2
3. Right click on new frame and view the <Description...>
The Title and Description are missing from the Dragged Frame.
Follow-up Testing:
Added a Picture to a Frame:
1. With frame selected, on “Menu” bar select <Insert>, <Picture>, <From File>
and select a picture.
2. Right click on the frame boarder and confirm Title and Description
3. Select picture inside the frame, right click and add a Title and Description
4. Select Frame
5. Perform a <ctrl + C> to copy
6. Perform a <ctrl + V> to paste a copy of the frame with the Picture inside
7. Right click on new frame and view the <Description...>
Title and Description are PRESENT on both the Frame and the Picture

OpenOffice Version: 4.1.2 AOO412m3(Build:9782) - Rev. 1709696
Specs:
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Intel i7 4770k @ 3.5 Ghz

RAM: 8 GB
Steps:
Copy and Paste
1. Open OpenOfiice Writer
2. Create a new document (Ctr + N or go to File -> New -> Text Document)
3. Choose Insert -> Frame
4. On the “Type” tab, under the “Anchor” section, choose “As Character” then
click OK
5. Right click on the frame then choose “Description”
6. Enter a title and description to the “Title” and “Description” box
accordingly then click OK.
7. Copy the frame (Ctr + v) and paste it on the new document (Ctr + p)
8. Repeat step 5 for both frame
9. Description box of the frame got pasted is empty.
Drag and Drop
1. Open OpenOfiice Writer

My follow up test:
Paste to a new document
1. Open OpenOfiice Writer
2. Create a new document (Ctr + N or go to File -> New -> Text Document)
3. Choose Insert -> Frame
4. On the “Type” tab, under the “Anchor” section, choose “As Character” then
click OK
5. Right click on the frame then choose “Description”
6. Enter a title and description to the “Title” and “Description” box
accordingly then click OK.
7. Create a new document (Ctr + N or go to File -> New -> Text Document)
8. Click on the frame and copy by drag the frame (Ctr + C) and paste it on the
new document (Ctr + V)
9. Repeat step 5 for both frame
10. Description box of the frame got pasted is empty.
Repeat the step above for drag and drop copy get the same result, the pasted
frame is empty.
Try cut (Ctr + X) function:
1. Open OpenOfiice Writer
2. Create a new document (Ctr + N or go to File -> New -> Text Document)
3. Choose Insert -> Frame
4. On the “Type” tab, under the “Anchor” section, choose “As Character” then
click OK
5. Right click on the frame then choose “Description”
6. Enter a title and description to the “Title” and “Description” box
accordingly then click OK.
9. Click on the frame and copy by drag the frame (Ctr + X) and paste it on the
new document (Ctr + V)
10. Repeat step 5
11. Description box of the frame got pasted is empty.
According to the OpenOffice helps, the description is visible as an alternative
tag for accessibility tools so it should be able to be copy with the frame. But
both cutting and copying the frame lose the description field. This could be
consider as loss of data.

REPLICATE THE BUG AS DESCRIBED IN THE ORIGINAL BUG REPORT:
I could successfully replicate the bug based on the original report and the
comments. I performed the following steps:
1. Open the OpenOffice Writer
2. Create a new text document by selecting “File menu --> New --> Text
Document”.
3. Add a frame to the new document by selecting (Insert menu --> Frame --> Type
tab.
4. In the new dialog box select the Radio Button “As character” under the
“Anchor list” and then press OK.
5. Right click on the new frame and from the menu select “Description”.
6. In the new dialog box give a “Title” and “Description” and then press OK.
7. Repeat (5) again to be sure that the entries still exist.
Now, Copy & Paste the original frame
8. Click on the original frame in order to make it selected (surrounded by
yellow dots).
9. Copy the frame (Ctrl + C) and put the cursor on a blank area in the
document.
10. Paste the new frame (Ctrl + V).
11. Repeat (5) with the new frame.
12. The “Title” and “Description” of the new frame were empty (information is
not copied to the new frame).
THE RANGE OF CIRCUMSTANCES UNDER WHICH THE BUG APPEARS (Follow-up Tests):
I successfully replicated 6 different extra ways to copy/paste the frame:
1. Drag & Drop (Vary my behavior):
1.1. Use the mouse this time (or the touch pad if you use a laptop)
1.2. Copy the original frame (Ctrl + double click & hold ) and move the cursor
to a blank area in the document
1.3. Drag the new frame to the new area
1.4. Repeat (5)
1.5. The information in “Title” and “Description” fields was lost
2. Using Copy & Paste in the Right Click Menu (Vary my behavior):
2.1. Repeat (8)
2.2. Do right click on the original frame to show the menu
2.3. Select “Copy” from the menu to copy the original frame and move the cursor
to a blank area in the document
2.4. Do right click on the blank area and select “Paste” from the menu to paste
the new frame.
2.5. Repeat (5)
2.6. The Title and Description were lost
3. Using Copy & Paste in the main Menu (Edit) (Vary my behavior):
3.1. Repeat (8)
3.2. click on the menu (Edit) and select (Copy) to copy the original frame
3.3. Move the cursor to a blank area in the document
3.4. Click on the menu (Edit) again and select (Paste) to paste the new frame
3.5. Repeat (5)
3.6. The information in “Title” and “Description” fields was lost
4. Repeated Copying & Pasting the original frame MANYTIMES (Vary my behavior):
4.1. Repeat more than 15 times Copying & Pasting the original frame
4.2. The Title and Description were lost in all the new frames, but nothing
suspicious happened to the program
5. Resizing the original frame and Copying & Pasting it (Vary my behavior):
5.1. Resize the original frame to many bigger and smaller ones
5.2. Copying & Pasting the resizing frame
5.3. The Title and Description were lost in all the new frames, but nothing
suspicious happened to the program
6. Changed the frame configuration to “To page”, “To paragraph”, and “To
character” in step (4). (Vary the setting)
6.1. Repeat the overhead 4 ways to Copy & Paste the original frame
6.2. The information in “Title” and “Description” fields was still missing
7. Changed the environment that OpenOffice - Writer is running on (Vary the
software environment)
I replicated the bug on 2 different machines (laptop & desktop) with slightly
different OS features (as shown below) and the bug existed in both machines. I
know that both machines have almost the same OS, but the main purpose was to
check the bug in different machines.
- The bug was successfully replicated on Windows 7 Professional 2009 (64-bit)
machine running Intel (R) Core ™ i7CPU @ 2.40GHz and 8 GB installed memory
- The bug was successfully replicated on Windows 7 Enterprise 2009 (64-bit)
machine running Intel (R) Core ™ i7CPU @ 2.40GHz and 6 GB installed memory

6. Insert Title and Description.
7. Click ‘OK’
8. Select Frame
9. Press Ctrl+C (Copy)
10.Put the cursor on a blank area in the document
11.Press Ctrl+V (Paste)
12.Select new frame.
13.Right Click -> ‘Description’
14.The Title and Description are not copied.
B. Successfully replicate the issue using “Drag and Drop”:
1. Open OpenOffice Writer.
2. Click ‘Insert’ -> ‘Frame’
3. Click ‘OK’
4. Select Frame.
5. Right Click -> ‘Description’
6. Insert Title and Description.
7. Click ‘OK’
8. Hold Ctrl and drag the frame to empty space
9. Select new frame.
10.Right Click -> ‘Description’
11.The Title and Description are not copied.
C. Follow Up Test:
C1. Successfully replicate the issue using “Cut and Paste”:
Cut and paste also have the same effect with copy and paste. It is important
issue because cut and paste logically should retain all the original
attributes.
1. Open OpenOffice Writer.
2. Click ‘Insert’ -> ‘Frame’
3. Click ‘OK’
4. Select Frame.
5. Right Click -> ‘Description’
6. Insert Title and Description.
7. Click ‘OK’
8. Select Frame
9. Press Ctrl+X (Cut)
10.Press Ctrl+V (Paste)
11.Select new frame.
12.Right Click -> ‘Description’
13.The Title and Description are back to empty.
C2. Successfully replicate the issue using “Changing the Anchor option”:
Change the anchor also have the same effect. It will remove title and
description. Although the anchor changed, it is still the same frame/object, so
the frame/object attribute should be retained.
1. Open OpenOffice Writer.
2. Click ‘Insert’ -> ‘Frame’
3. Click ‘OK’
4. Select Frame.
5. Right Click -> ‘Description’
6. Insert Title and Description.
7. Click ‘OK’
8. Select Frame
9. Right Click -> ‘Anchor’ -> Select different Anchor
10.The Title and Description are back to empty.
D. Expected (Working fine in the other object):
I use “Picture” as the object for comparison. I try to apply all the above
actions (Copy and paste, drag and drop, etc) and this object retains all the
title and description.
1. Open OpenOffice Writer.
2. Click ‘Insert’ -> ‘Picture’ -> From File
3. Choose the image.
4. Click ‘Open’
5. Select the image.
6. Right Click -> ‘Description’
7. Insert Title and Description.
8. Click ‘OK’
9. Select the image
10.Press Ctrl+C (Copy)
11.Put the cursor on a blank area in the document
12.Press Ctrl+V (Paste)
13.Select new image.
14.Right Click -> ‘Description’
15.The Title and Description are retained
