[jira] Created: (HADOOP-892) Job should be able to specify whether task vm is 32 or 64 bit

Job should be able to specify whether task vm is 32 or 64 bit
-------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: HADOOP-892
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-892
             Project: Hadoop
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: mapred
    Affects Versions: 0.10.1
            Reporter: Nigel Daley
            Priority: Minor

Perhaps a job should be able to specify whether it wants it's task VM's to be 32 or 64 bit. This could be accomplished by the -d32 and -d64 java options when the task VM is exec'd. This becomes important for native libs.
