I work with [~dangonz] and can offer a bit more info on this, but not much.
We've since updated our product to run with Java 17.0.2, so the stack trace looks a bit different now (This is Derby version 10.15.2.0):

This isn't something we can reproduce I'm afraid. We've seen this from customers on the following platforms (as reported by Java):
