                 Key: MAPREDUCE-1047
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MAPREDUCE-1047
             Project: Hadoop Map/Reduce
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: pipes
    Affects Versions: 0.20.1
         Environment: Linux 2.6.30-gentoo-r6 -- i686 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8100 @ 2.10GHz
            Reporter: Simone Leo

I recently upgraded to gnu bash 4.0 and found out that Hadoop Pipes applications break because they cannot read the "hadoop.pipes.command.port" environment variable.
