Hackathon at OSCON?

I'm not entirely sure party@ is the place for this since it's not quite a
'party,' but I've heard a rumor (from Duncan) that O'Reilly is hoping to
provide space at OSCON for interested parties to hold a hackathon for two days
(Sunday and Monday) before the actual conference in July.

I don't believe you're going to have to be registered at the conference to
attend a Hackathon, so you could just show up in Portland on Sunday and
Monday, I guess.

So, is there any interest in holding an ASF hackathon at OSCON? No idea if
we've already passed an expiration of the offer though.

Hopefully, we'll be having an ApacheCon again soon. *kick RoUS* -- justin

Doing an ApacheCon this year in Europe didn't worked out and
at some point we decided to postpone until next year.
Regarding its location we mainly discussed Stockholm and Amsterdam.
But nothing is set in stone yet.

There is also a public discussion list at discuss-subscribe@apachecon.com
related to our conferences.

Again, does this mean the frame for the next ApacheCon Europe
next year is all set, and I shouldn't bother?
Any details, just in case?

This year it didn't worked out for a european ApacheCon, but
there are plans doing an ApacheCon Europe in 2004 (Mai/June).

In part this depends on how we (and our conference producer)
are doing regarding the US show in November.

Does this mean "don't bother"? What about late summer 2004?

next apachecon is in las vegas in november. same bat time,
same bat channel. the bobbles involved with sorting out the
2003 one prevented us from pulling everything together for
one in europe this summer, as originally planned; there were
too many issues outstanding. next year we'll do it better.

Unfortunately, not enough interest was gathered soon enough. I believe
that the hackathon isn't going to happen. Now, if enough people spark
up with interest, then that might be changed, but I'm not sure what the
magic number is.
