[jira] [Created] (HADOOP-8061) Back port trunk metrics2 changes to
1.x branch
Back port trunk metrics2 changes to 1.x branch
----------------------------------------------
Key: HADOOP-8061
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-8061
Project: Hadoop Common
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: metrics
Affects Versions: 1.0.0
Reporter: Luke Lu
Assignee: Luke Lu
For hysterical raisins, metrics2 code in hadoop 1.x branch and trunk diverged. It looks like HBase needs to support both 1.x and 0.23+ for a while, hence the more urgent need to clean up the situation.

Luke Lu reassigned HADOOP-8061:

I'm not working on this in the short term (probably this calendar year). It should be a straightforward (albeit a little tedious) job: replace the metrics2 package from trunk and make things compile/work.
I'll help review and commit the change if people take this up.
