Patch to increase epm verbosity

the proposed patch increases the verbosity when configure is invoked with
--enable-verbose, or you export VERBOSE=TRUE.
It passes to epm -v2, the "2" here is dummy and has no meaning, as explained
above epm takes the verbosity from the string length, not the actual value.
