What's Jamailet?

I am interested in learning something about Jamailet.
could someone please introduce it?

Jamailet is an open source project originally created to contain an
implementation of the AbstractQuotaMatcher which allows to create
declarative storage information by means of a XML configuration file. Then
it became the *first* open source project for matchers and mailets. If you
