up-to-date list of projects in incubation
Today i wanted a list of all projects that are
currently in incubation. However that is not easy.
The two main places are:
[1] http://incubator.apache.org/projects/
[2] http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/ReportingSchedule
However some podlings are missing from both lists.
I reviewed the general@ incubator mail list for all
of 2008 and correlated the lists. The following podlings
are missing from the reporting schedule:
Thrift - started in February 2008. It did report in July,
so i added it to that group.
Click - started in July 2008. Not yet reported.
Etch - started in September 2008. Not yet reported.
Tashi - started in September 2008. Not yet reported.
so i added those three to the "Monthly" group.
It seems that the process to get new projects started
needs to be improved.
The current list of things to do is at:
http://incubator.apache.org/guides/mentor.html#bootstrap
I suggest to move item 7 "Add podling to reporting schedule"
up to the top of the list. In this way, at least they are
then scheduled to report and so don't become lost while
getting the other stuff started.

So now Click and Etch need to add themselves into the
table at http://incubator.apache.org/projects/
I know that you have your reports set up and are listed
on the side menu, but missing from the table.
Tashi still has no status page.
Instructions are at

Good suggestion -- Shindig got bit by this and we ended up missing out on
reporting for the first few months :-\
We're on it now though,

I can speak for Tashi. The project has just been voted this month and one of
the the two original committers doesn't have his ICLA on file yet so no
accounts yet. The mailings lists have already been created though. Still,
there's not even a repository at the moment so I was just waiting untill it
settles down. Bootstrapping can be a bit long sometimes.

Okay, done in r699181
Move the sections about "Reporting Schedule" and "Status Page" up to the top.
