Navigation with the c:forEach tag

The classic scenario of using the tag is to retrieve a list of items, and a user can retrieve the detail data of an item on 
the list. Once a user have the item data, s/he shall be able to navigate forward or backward for another item without go 
back to the list page. Is any good way to cache the list's keys?
