internal import error
Cannot open or save any XLS documents, see attached screenshots.
On opening XLS:
Read-error. Internal import error.
On saving XLS:
Error saving the document xx. Read-error. Internal import error.
ODS files work fine.
This is the second nightly (within a week) that has this problem.
Installed plugins: IBM Connections.
Solutions tried:
Reboot
Remove all AOO components from system
Reinstall nightly
Redhat 6.4 x64
AOO410m1(Build:9750) - Rev. 1562493

Installed nightly 2014-02-05_04:11:01 - Rev. 1564626 and the error is gone.
Did something get fixed?
I'll change status to 'resolved' for now, and will get back if the error
reoccurs.

In "124155 - Read Error, Internal import error with particular.xls" ony one
particular document is affected. But who can know?

I now tried to reset the User, but still same error.
What other "other standard tricks" would be useful here? Is there a link?
Also please indicate what kind of log-files you want to see.

Patch to export ScFilterCreate symbol explicitly
Not only XLS file but other scfilt related filters can not be used.
For example,
- copy someting from spreadsheet and paste it on Writer document by "Formatted
text (RTF)"
-> error, because it depends on RTF filter for Calc from scfilter

I am pretty sure that that problem is related to your individual installation.
Did you already try to rename your User profile and other standard tricks?
And of course, any additional info likd logs might help to find out what is
happening.

The error is returned by methods from ScFormatFilterMissing class.
If ScFilterCreate function symbol can not be loaded from the libscfilt.so file,
all methods returns eERR_INTERN and the message "Internal import error." is
shown.
I got the following message with debug build:
Trace 11102/6: "error: osl_getAsciiFunctionSymbol failed with
/mnt/hd/aoo/main/instsetoo_native/unxlngx6.pro/Apache_OpenOffice/installed/install/en-US/openoffice4/program/../program/libunoxml.so:
undefined symbol: component_getImplementationEnvironmentExt
But I'm not good on this area. Xubuntu 12.04 64bit, rev. 1554205

the error occurs on any XLS, I've tried many, all sheets that used to work
under 4.0.1. gives the error (first error in screenshot) on opening, both by
double click the file as well ass opening via File>Open.
Creating a new sheet works, saving as ODS no problem, but saving as XLS gives
error as in screenshot #2.

Definitively not CONFIRMED! Currently we have no information at all concerning
the roots of reporter's problems.
Of course we need a sample document or more precise information to decide
whether Edwin's suspect is correct for reporter's particular problem. I doubt
because
* bug 93724 only affects particular documents with VBA macros
* bug 124132 is concerning a completely
@reporter
Please contribute a sample document - or does the problem appear with any .xls,
even a newly created empty document?
