   Hi @uncleGen , sorry I didn't see what you meant for taskpartition in JIRA, now I got it.
   
   Looks like I figured out the root cause - so submitted a patch to fix the root cause instead of taking workaround. I've borrowed your test code as you've nicely integrated the reproducer into UT, and retained your commit to give a credit to you.
   
   Could you please take a look at #26162 and see whether the patch will resolve SPARK-29438? Thanks in advance!
