Encoding Problem



hi : all   
            
            as we know,  we use xml transform will make character into Unicode,
            and then we showing on the Browser, 
            but, if i wanna to transform the xml into Text(Asia character) , does Xalan have any way to do that???
            i do not need unicode anymore.......i just need xml to transform into common text (character )
            any clues??????
