[jira] Created: (FOR-825) New Doc - Migrating existing site to Forrest

New Doc - Migrating existing site to Forrest
--------------------------------------------

         Key: FOR-825
         URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FOR-825
     Project: Forrest
        Type: Improvement
  Components: Documentation and website
    Reporter: Tim Williams
    Priority: Minor

I think we need a document that specifically answers the question: "I've got an existing website, what approaches can/should I use to migrate it to Forrest?" [I think this has to be more than a simple FAQ answer] Our current docs seem to me to be too biased towards new sites. I think having a very clean discussion of the approaches (e.g. convert content vs. leave in html, etc.) would be nice to have.

Much of the actual content will likely come from the discussion here:

Ross Gardler commented on FOR-825:
----------------------------------

One such doc, which deals with the stripping of existing navigation and decoration from a site so it can be rendered in Forrest is http://forrest.apache.org/docs_0_70/howto/howto-custom-html-source.html
