debris from failed commit attempts in the successors node-revs file

Revision numbers younger than current.

Those revision numbers may repeat more than once (in the not unlikely
case of repeatedly failing to commit r42).

They will always appear in non-descending order since the node-revs file
is only written to while the write-lock is held.
