Re: 1.1b2 (fwd)
So, I proposed this a few weeks ago, and since people seemed to agree, I
have gone ahead and applied it to the CVS tree. The stuff that was in
cgi-src is now in a "cgi-pack", currently in
/export/pub/apache/dist/contrib/cgi/cgi-pack.tar.gz. Could one of the
CVS admins remove the cgi-src directory when they get a chance?

Howbout
1) remove from cgi-bin: archie, calendar, date, finger, footer (what the
hell was this for?) fortune, nph-test-cgi, test-cgi.tcl, uptime, wais.pl
2) make cgi-bin/test.cgi chmod 444, with a note in the README to make it
executable in order to use it.
3) remove from cgi-src:
imagemap.c (forever! now that we have a nice imap module)
jj.c, phf.c
modify Makefile accordingly
(you know, you have to wonder how many subs have been ordered through
"JIMMY_JOHNS_5555680@fax.uiuc.edu"!)
4) Move Makefile, animate.c, count.c, post-query.c, query.c, random.c,
util.c and util.h into a separate tar file *separately distributed* and
*separately versioned* from Apache. Ben or Paul, I'll need your help
doing this (or need you to do it) as I'm still a novice at cvs in terms
of adding/removing directories.
5) Comment out the "Scriptalias" directive from srm-conf.dist. Leaving
it enabled automatically is just asking for trouble.
Since this is some major work, I'll put out 1.1b2 tonight without doing
this, but it should be done before 1.1 final.
