JMeter remote test issue

Hi,

I'm trying to perform a remote test session. Just as a start (before to configure 4 injectors and one collector) I set up two machines, in the same subnet, one as a JMeter Master and the second one as JMeter slave (where I run the JMeter server).

I'm pretty sure the configuration I set up is correct, because editing the log file (from the Slave Machine, running the rmiregistry and the jmeter server) I can see:

2007/05/29 12:28:36 INFO - jmeter.engine.RemoteJMeterEngineImpl: Starting backing engine on 1099

2007/05/29 12:28:36 INFO - jmeter.engine.StandardJMeterEngine: Listeners will be started after enabling running version

2007/05/29 12:28:36 INFO - jmeter.engine.StandardJMeterEngine: To revert to the earlier behaviour, define jmeterengine.startlistenerslater=false

2007/05/29 12:28:37 INFO - jmeter.engine.RemoteJMeterEngineImpl: Bound to registry on port 1099

The problem I see is that after I click on the Master machine (the one running jmeter.bat with the test plan previously registered) Run à RemoteStartà IPaddress nothing happens.

Just to let you know the two machines are in the same subnet without any firewall between them. Te O.S. is Windows Server 2003.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind Regards,

Massimo.

Yes, it's a client as far as the application is concerned, but it's
the server as far as JMeter client-server mode is concerned.

Please don't send attachments to the mailing list.
[As it happens, it fell off anyway.]

Put it on a public URL and send the link, or create a Bugzilla issue
and attach there, or wait to be asked and send it to the requester.

However in this case, just include the relevant line in the email.

Hi,

Of course the Server machine is the one on which I run jmeter -s and
Rmiregsitry. I called it client because for the testing purpose it works
as injector.

Anyway I'll debug to understand why JMeter does not care about my config
in the jmeter.properties file (you can find it attached), where I set
the correct IP Address.

RE: JMeter remote test issue

Hi,

Now I now the problem but it looks very strange. The client machine
(where the jmeter server is running) has 4 network interfaces, and one
of which is 'closed' (accesses not allowed), but in the Server machine
(the one where I set the host) I set a specific IP Address (one of the
three availabe, let's say 'open').

It seems jmeter is trying to 'check' all the IP addresses and when it
tries to connect to the 'close' one an error is returned (even if I set
a specific IP address, different from the one for wich the connections
are not allowed). I'm sure because disabling that network interface
there is not any problem. Any suggestion? Just because that interface
cannot be disabled (our system department use it for other pouposes).

Massimo

Make sure that identical versions of JMeter are installed on both hosts.

on the server system.
