AuthzSVNAccessFile fails no matter how its set
I can't get this to work. The apache logs are not very specific:
[Mon Jun 16 12:57:50 2008] [error] [client 70.184.242.240] Access
denied: 'dstoddard' CHECKOUT repos:/natshop/docs
Here is the authz file
[groups]
everyone = pfarrell, kelly, dstoddard
natshops = pfarrell, dstoddard
[natshop]
@natshops = rw
Here is the virtual host fragment:
<Location /repos>
SSLRequireSSL
DAV svn
SVNPath /var/svnhome
AuthType Basic
AuthName "SVN Repository"
AuthUserFile /usr/local/apache2/goodusers
Require valid-user
AuthzSVNAccessFile /usr/local/apache2/authz
</Location>
I can checkout fine, but commits fail.
The real repository is /var/svnhome/
and this project is /var/svnhome/natshop/
Thanks
Pat

Hari didn't say the host is down. The error message very clearly
states that the hostname can't be resolved - a DNS or other network
issue. Your client hasn't even gotten far enough to determine if the
host is up or down.

No, the host is not down, and no proxy is needed.
I think its the [natshop] in the authz that just needs to be [/natshop]
The messages are fairly obscure. SVN really needs a verbosity switch to
help debug these problems.

Well, the issue clearly is because it is not able to resolve
www.pfarrell.com. And not with the authorization file.
How were you able to checkout? Did something change after you checked out?
May be the host is down. Or may be you need to now resolve it through a
proxy.

pfarrell@tools:~/sandbox/natshop/docs$ cp newcert.sh foo

A foo
pfarrell@tools:~/sandbox/natshop/docs$ svn commit
svn: Commit failed (details follow):
svn: OPTIONS request failed on '/repos/natshop/docs'
svn: OPTIONS of '/repos/natshop/docs': Could not resolve hostname

Yes, the apache log only talks about checkout, but that works. Most strange

What is the error on the command line when you execute the command?

Can you try with [/natstop]

Hm... the apache log seems to suggest you can't checkout as well.

Since you are using SVNPath, so here should be only one repos.
try change to
[natshop:/]
@natshops = rw
or
[/]
@natshops = rw
Wish that help.
