[jira] Commented: (SB-21) Determine which tag attributes should be
removed
[ http://issues.apache.org/struts/browse/SB-21?page=comments#action_38330 ]
Wendy Smoak commented on SB-21:
-------------------------------
In http://www.nabble.com/-tiles2--GetTag-vs.-InsertTag-t2381916.html#a6658837
Cedric writes:
* Attributes "template=" and "component=" were changed to "page=" -
because we specify the page to insert. Tiles is more than a
templating mechanism, and the inserted page is not necessary a
template :-). Maybe we can use "tile=" now that tile is a very
well established name.
I think templage was retained because the comments seemed to indicate that was the preferred one. The comments for page and component said "same as template".
I actually like the idea of changing it to 'tile'. (To me a 'page' is the entire composition, not a piece of it.)

> According to the documentation, the 'page', 'template',and 'component' attributes all mean the same thing.

> Earlier discussion seemed to indicate the intent to simplify the tags and keep only one of these three for Standalone Tiles.
