[jira] [Commented] (ODE-978) Refactor jacob to move examples out and simplify

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ODE-978?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13499198#comment-13499198 ]

Hadrian Zbarcea commented on ODE-978:
-------------------------------------

Not sure if I should create a new jira or just use this one. Jacob has a dependency on utils, but only uses 3 classes there: CollectionUtils, MessageBundle and ObjectPrinter. None of them have external dependencies. The utils jar however has a bunch of dependencies.

I would deprecate the existing classes and either:
1. Move them to ode-jacob
2. Split ode-utils into multiple pieces.

We could also delay this a bit until we sort out the omodel, but I think we'll hit the dependencies issue again soon. Thoughts?
