[jira] Created: (AXIS2-1970) Enabling the cache gets stuck in a loop and creates a file that won't stop growing

Enabling the cache gets stuck in a loop and creates a file that won't stop growing
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: AXIS2-1970
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AXIS2-1970
             Project: Apache Axis 2.0 (Axis2)
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 1.1.1
         Environment: Windows
            Reporter: Andrew York
            Priority: Blocker

I marked this as a blocker because cache can't be enabled on the client side.

The following program will create a file that does not stop growing until I terminate the process:

        //textData.doOptimize(false);

        return elem;
    }

}

The file that is created contains the response plus a whole lot of 0xFFs. A hex dump of the file follow. The beginning of the file is what is expected. The rest isn't.

Andrew York commented on AXIS2-1970:
------------------------------------

The client should be able to deal with an improperly formatted response. If a "missing end mime boundary ... when deployed in ... Tomcat" can cause the client side to fill up a disk, then the issue is more than what Tomcat does. The client should not expect the server to always send properly formatted messages.

Thilina Gunarathne commented on AXIS2-1970:
-------------------------------------------

This issue seems to get surfaced due to missing end mime boundary problem when deployed in a Tomcat, which I fixed last week...

So with having the latest Axiom in the server side will not generate this issue...

Anyway we need this to be fixed even to handle missing MIME boundaries..

-----------------------------------------

I am also experiencing this issue and would be glad about a solution.
we have to "download" quite large files and therefore i want to use client side caching.

[jira] Commented: (AXIS2-1970) Enabling the cache gets stuck in a loop and creates a file that won't stop growing

Enrico Ladendorf commented on AXIS2-1970:
-----------------------------------------

This bug caused users' hard drives to be completely filled with these huge erroneous attachment files. The seemingly innocent action of enabling MTOM and CACHE_ATTACHMENTS in the client axis2.xml was all it took to take down the machine.
