Export of Process Instances

Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way to export a running process instance
and redeploy it on another machine.

Of course you will face problems like:

- stopping a running process
- how to get all process data like vars which are not persisted yet
- etc.

Has anybody ever tried to do such a thing? :)

Cheers,
Andreas

Thanks Tammo,

and yes I'm a CS student in Stuttgart :) Writing my thesis here at the
IAAS right now.

I'm currently trying to figure out how to get processes out of a
running ODE instance and getting them running on another one. I'll get
in touch with Tobias and see if he can help me out.

Cheers,
Andreas

Andreas,

do you study in Stuttgart? I'd then suggest you to visit Tobias Unger,
IAAS, CS building, to talk about this topic. He's also collected a
couple of slides:

For a different approach you should have a look at

  Tammo

Import / export has been discussed and there's even been a Google Summer of
Code proposition for it but it didn't materialize. But if you're interested
in getting your hands dirty, we'd be happy to help. I'm not sure about the
running part though, depends what you have in mind (currently doing
something vs. just being active).
