TMP storage of upload files

Hi,

i implemented a portlet for upload of files. It works fine, but tomcat
stores temporerly  the files. The file has the number of the session in its
name: 8817DB2D34C1B9D0DD60FF8CB88307B5_upload_00000014.tmp.

When tomcat shuts down, the files are deleted.

Can I configure the duration of the temp. storage ?
