Quick $PATH check question
Hi: I need a little advice on fundamentals of $PATH. I had it once, but
forgot to export, so lost it when I closed terminal session.
I have jkd1.18, jdk1.3, jre1.3, and an executable ./java sitting in /usr/lib.
When I run the batik-svgbrowser.jar, I get:
tompoe@aether:~/batik-1.0 > java -jar batik-svgbrowser.jar
bash: java: command not found
When I run $PATH command, I have this at the moment:
$> $PATH
bash:
/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/bin:/usr/games/bin:/usr/games:/opt/gnome/bin:
/opt/kde2/bin:/opt/kde/bin:.:/usr/lib/java:/usr/lib/jdk1.3:/usr/lib/jre1.3:/usr/lib:
No such file or directory
Any suggestions? Thanks, Tom
