[jira] [Commented] (INFRA-11520) Cannot upload new copy of keys/index.html

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-11520?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15207772#comment-15207772 ]

Sebb commented on INFRA-11520:
------------------------------

Fine by me.

Note that the keys/committer and keys/group directories are written by a cron job, so must have the appropriate ownership/permissions.

I've just realised:
since the cron job does not need to write to keys (only to the subdirs), an alternative (short-term) solution would be to reassign keys and index.html back to my ownership as well as fixing the permissions in the html directory.

But pubsub would be better as it would allow others to contribute.

> I have updated the file in SVN but cannot upload it to the server because of the file protections.
> In order to make it easier to update in future it might make sense to replace the index.html file with a soft link to an index file in the parent directory.
> There would then be no need to change the permissions of the keys/ directory tree.
