> At any rate, this might (have been) be a bug in the PageManager, or not, and I doubt we'll be able to find out unless you can reproduce this easily.

I've remembered yet one same problem.
Some monthes ago we wanted to recompose main page of portal. So we have created page newmain.psml in folder TEST of portal. We have composed this page as we want. After that we have copied this page to local machine, rename it's id (inside .psml file) from /TEST/newmain.psml to /default-page.psml, and copied this psml-file to portal as default-page.psml into filesystem folder webapps/jetspeed/WEB-INF/pages. But after few hours old default-page.psml was raised up.

In current situation this folder (when two weeks portlets) with all subfolders was copied from test server with restoring portal DB. But it was in february. And system administrators restarting our portal every day because of its infinity increasing of memory use.

> But even then, as you're still working with a very old, and even under development version of PageManager, I'd advise you to upgrade as soon as
> you can.

Yes. Thanks. We are waiting for 2.1.2 release.

Closing this as Won't Fix as an undetermined 2.1-dev snapshot version issue which hardly can be reproduced.
If you can reproduce this on a more recent version with specific testdata, please create a new issue.

Vitaly,

To be honest, I don't really understand your question or your problem.
It seems (but I could be understanding this incorrectly), you lost some psml files (or database definitions)?
I'm not sure, but that seems unlikely accountably to Jetspeed, or you must have encountered some kind of corruption during writing/modification of psml.

Could you please rephrase and more clearly indicate what happened and what exactly the problem is.
Also, providing some context and environment information (e.g. type of psml storage: file or db, database used etc.) is important to give us any chance of helping you out.

But note: you're using a (more than a year old) developers snapshot/trunk of Jetspeed which is always risky to do and it is very difficult for us to help out if it isn't the current trunk.

I'm sorry, problem was a little different.
All portlets was deleted from page in last two weeks are returned to this page in one moment.
For example, page1.psml two weaks ago contained portlet A, portlet B and portlet C. One week ago I have removed portlet B from page. Two days ago I have added portlet D to page. So, two days ago page was contains portlet A, portlet C and portlet D. But in some moment portlet B has raised up, so page cointains portlet A, portlet B, portlet C and portlet D!

Type of psml storage: SuSe Linux 10.1 file system
Database used: IBM DB2 8.2

Ate Douma commented on JS2-746:
-------------------------------

The only reason I can think of why you might see something like this (and note: I never have, nor have I heard something similar) is that the initial delete of Portlet B somehow never was written out to the PSML.
And, if the added Portlet D *was* written out to the PSML, the file would then have both Portlet B and Portlet D defined.
Now, if you thereafter restarted the portal (or otherwise touched the PSML), it would be loaded fresh from file and you'd get both Portlet B and Portlet D displayed.
I'm not sure this is what happened, but this is about the only reason I can come up with (short of someone else sneaking in and adding Portlet B to the page again behind your back).

At any rate, this might (have been) be a bug in the PageManager, or not, and I doubt we'll be able to find out unless you can reproduce this easily.
But even then, as you're still working with a very old, and even under development version of PageManager, I'd advise you to upgrade as soon as you can.

Please report back if you think this might be enough of a (possible) explanation, because then I can close this "issue" as "Cannot Reproduce".
I also think these type of (initially) very unclear issues better be brought up on the jetspeed user list first instead of directly creating a (Major) Bug issue for it.
