[jira] [Created] (OAK-10978) Skip Azure compaction when there's not enough garbage in the repository

Andrei Dulceanu created OAK-10978:
-------------------------------------

Summary: Skip Azure compaction when there's not enough garbage in the repository
                 Key: OAK-10978
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OAK-10978
             Project: Jackrabbit Oak
          Issue Type: Story
          Components: oak-run, segment-azure
            Reporter: Andrei Dulceanu
            Assignee: Andrei Dulceanu

We can have a simple estimation based on current repository size vs. last repository size (if available in gc.log) as online compaction is doing and skip compaction if the garbage in the repository is below a certain threshold (e.g. 1 GB) or a certain percentage (e.g. 10%).
