[jira] [Created] (SHINDIG-1751) There is no developer documentation.

There is no developer documentation.
------------------------------------

                 Key: SHINDIG-1751
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SHINDIG-1751
             Project: Shindig
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Java, Website
            Reporter: Christian
            Priority: Blocker

There is no developer documentation right now. The four documentation links at http://shindig.apache.org/developers/java/index.html are broken. And most links at the JavaDocs refer to non-existing webpages, f.e. http://www.opensocial.org/Technical-Resources/opensocial-spec-v08/gadget-spec in class GadgetSpec.

You're making it very difficult to use Shindig. I'm thinking about abandoning it.

Give me some documentation and I'll be glad to help you. ;) But without it there's no chance I could help anybody.

Christian, I understand your frustrations, and appreciate your passion. We just don't have the capacity to refresh everything right now. We have certainly made some progress on some process related things but the site and documentation are still terrible. If you are at all interested in helping with anything please let us know, but at this time we are doing everything we can with the people who are active in the community.

How long will it be work in progress? It's ridiculous to provide a framework without documentation! Just reupload the old versions.

Christian, not true. Our first step before we start creating / updating documentation is having a place to put the documentation. We need the website to be updated. First step is moving the relevant information from the existing Maven site over to the new CMS site and if you are interested I am sure you can help with that. I would be glad to get you started. Let me know if you are interested.
