svn:keywords - no substitution [Virus checked]

Hi there,

I tried to use the keyword substitution in a html file
As described in the subversion book I filled in a line 'changed at $Date$'.
Furthermore I set the svn:keywords property to "Date" (both using
TortoiseSVN
After a commit a check on the repository server responds "Date" as existing
svn:keywords property content.

After an additional change of the html file the keyword $Date$ has not been
substituted.

According to the description nothing else should be necessary.

Is that correct?
Is there any other precondition for the keyword substitution I do not know
(or I did not read ;-) ?

Thanks

Greetings
Andi

Defined svn:keywords will replace $ID$ tag by keywords values in versioned file (as it was
noted - after update of keyworded and tagged source)

This is after an additional change, followed by an update.

I first try to use the keywords Date and Author in combination.
When testing the substitution I saw that this does not work and I removed
the keyword Author in the file as well as in the property.

Just to confirm: this is after an additional change, followed by an
update? The update is necessary to get the substitution. I'm not sure
if it's sufficient...

Martin,

as I understand auto-props is only necessary if you want to automatically
set properties to newly added or generated files.
It should be not necessary if you set the property of a file manually.

Did you remember to enable-auto-props=yes in the conf file?
