[jira] Created: (INFRA-1083) Create Tiles TLP
Create Tiles TLP
----------------
Key: INFRA-1083
URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-1083
Project: Infrastructure
Issue Type: Task
Security Level: public (Regular issues)
Components: TLP Admin
Reporter: Greg Reddin
As approved by the Board at the December 2006 meeting, please set up the infrastrcture for the Tiles TLP:
#=======================================
[1] Root Tasks
Create unix group "tiles"
Add following usernames to group "tiles": apetrelli, craigmcc, ddewolf, greddin, nbubna, wsmoak
Create new DNS entry "tiles.apache.org" and configure into website server instance
#=======================================
[2] Mailing Lists
[2.1] Addresses
dev@tiles.apache.org
users@tiles.apache.org
commits@tiles.apache.org
issues@tiles.apache.org
notifications@tiles.apache.org
private@tiles.apache.org
[2.2] Setup Characteristics
All lists except private should be set up to require subscription before posting, have the Reply-To header set, and suppress trailers.
Private list should also require moderation for subscription requests
[2.3] Initial Moderators For All Lists
David H. DeWolf <ddewolf AT apache.org>
Greg Reddin <greddin AT apache.org>
[2.4] Archives
http://tiles.apache.org/mail/dev/YYYYMM.gz
http://tiles.apache.org/mail/users/YYYYMM.gz
http://tiles.apache.org/mail/commits/YYYYMM.gz
http://tiles.apache.org/mail/issues/YYYYMM.gz
http://tiles.apache.org/mail/notifications/YYYYMM.gz
http://tiles.apache.org/mail/private/YYYYMM.gz (Restricted access???)
#=======================================
[3] Source Repository
As PMC chair, I volunteer to be a Subversion admin, and can set up the new space, authorizations, and copy/move old sources myself. I may need help with this as I haven't done it before, but I think there are enough experienced people on the new PMC to help.
Commit notifications should go to commits@tiles.apache.org
#=======================================
[4] Issue Tracker
We'd like to stick with JIRA, and are open to being in either the common JIRA instance, the Struts one, or a new instance just for Tiles. Our preferred Jira prefix is TILES.
#=======================================
[5] Wiki
New wiki instance "http://cwiki.apache.org/TILES" on Confluence.
#=======================================
[6] Initial Committer list
Antonio Petrelli <apetrelli AT apache.org>
Craig McClanahan <craigmcc AT apache.org>
David H. DeWolf <ddewolf AT apache.org>

Joe Schaefer commented on INFRA-1083:
-------------------------------------
The confluence admins within INFRA are responsible for it
(I'm not one of those folks). You might wish to file a separate
jira within the confluence section to grab their attention
(or ping the infrastructure list).

Yes, I think that's correct. I don't see anything else missing. Is that still an INFRA task or is somebody else responsible for it?

Looks like the struts jira has a TILES project, so all
you need at this point is for a confluence admin
to set up a TILES space, correct?

I've added entries in the auth file for #3, but an svnadmin still needs to create the top level directory. Also, since the mailing lists don't exist yet, I can't point the commits to the list until that happens.

Thanks, Martin!
I understand there is an experimental tool available to port existing tickets to a new Jira project. Is that correct, and if so, can we use it to port the SB-* tickets from the Struts Sandbox project?

Martin Cooper commented on INFRA-1083:
--------------------------------------
I've added a Tiles Framework category and a Tiles project in the Struts JIRA instance. However, some of the settings (e.g. notification, permission and workflow schemes) will need updating - I've set them to Struts for now, since I'm not sure how best to create Tiles-specific versions.
