Karma for Kudu podling committers

Hi all,

I'm trying to follow the mentor guide to ensure that all of the initial
committers for the new Kudu podling have the correct karma. The guide seems
to be only half-updated for git, so having a bit of confusion here.

My understanding from the guide is that for git, the
asf-authorization-template is not used, but instead we just grant access to
the 'incubator' LDAP group. For the initial committers who did not
previously have Apache accounts, they do have the incubator group. For
other initial committers, they need to be added to the 'incubator' group.

I tried to use the modify_unix_group.pl utility per
http://www.apache.org/dev/pmc.html#karma-podling but seems that I have
insufficient access (I guess because I'm not the IPMC chair?) So, it seems
that the correct protocol is to email general@incubator or infra for this
request?

The committers who need access to our git repo are:

dralves
jdcryans
wang
danburkert
misty

LMK if instead I should file an INFRA ticket. We should also update the
mentor guide to clarify this aspect of karma granting.

-Todd

Well, this is the confusion. I think there are _two_ things that need to be
granted: the SVN auth (which will let them update the SVN-managed site) and
the LDAP group membership (which isn't mentioned on that page).

Seems like one of you guys took care of the LDAP as well. But perhaps we
should update the mentor guide to explain that?
