Derby-based JDBC courseware

I've just finished writing basic JDBC courseware for Object Innovations
that features Derby as its default database. The course is geared
towards using the SQL standard rather than vendor proprietary SQL. The
same JDBC queries run against Derby, MySQL and Oracle. The announcement
is at:

http://objectinnovations.com/News/05-03-16.html

I had to use a work-around when discussing scrollable result sets, but
I'll change that as soon as this work is finished within Derby.

Ed

I'm ahead of you on that one, I already made the request.

Thanks, Ed!

I changed the "How To's" slot on the Papers tab to "Instruction" and
added the link to your course.

I also added a link to the developworks "Cloudscape Detective":

Does anyone know of any other course materials?

web site changes should appear after next sync with the web server.

Jean,

The Object Innovations web site has been changed. Derby is mentioned at
the top of the database list.

Thanks for the post, Ed!

I noticed that the course description at
http://objectinnovations.com/CourseOutlines/168.html mentions Apache
Derby, but not until the System Requirements section at the bottom of
that page. I wonder if it might be possible to add Derby to the first
paragraph on that page as well, along with MySQL 3.22.9 and Oracle9i.

cheers,
