Tried to run an example program on hadoop0.23.0 and getting the following error.

Hi Srikanth, the Apache JIRA is for tracking established bugs or improvements. This looks like an operational issue. Specifically, it looks like you don't have any DNs running. I recommend you email mapreduce-user@hadoop.apache.org to get more help with this.
