[jira] [Created] (BIGTOP-3660) Selectable HDFS data initialization.

Giovanni Stilo created BIGTOP-3660:
--------------------------------------

             Summary: Selectable HDFS data initialization.
                 Key: BIGTOP-3660
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BIGTOP-3660
             Project: Bigtop
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: hadoop
    Affects Versions: 3.0.0
Environment: I have tested on Ubuntu 20.4 but i think this improvement is platform indipendent.
            Reporter: Giovanni Stilo

As best as I understood, anytime bigtop is deployed (new or old environment) it proceeds to init/format the specified data folders (mounted disks).
It could be very nice if this initialization can be done automatically by default but it can be disabled on occurrence.
I digged a bit in the deploy code a does not look to be a big deal but I am worried about the Kubernetes "kinit" of which I do not know much.
