I have a watch on this JIRA and think it is very useful. Also it would be useful to see documentation of the rationalization of the extensions, perhaps a pointer to a dev list message or wiki documentation.

Hi Dan, there is no detail just at the moment. I was just expressing a wish.
However in thinking about this a few more policy related issues are
surfacing so I'll start a thread to see if anyone has anymore. We should
consider them as a whole as I suspect some will overlap so I don't want to
look at them in isolation.
