[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-16699) Expose collection creation time from COLSTATUS API

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-16699?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17700176#comment-17700176 ]

David Smiley commented on SOLR-16699:
-------------------------------------

It's possible to hit Solr's ZK oriented APIs for this as was done in SOLR-15062 (CC [~noble.paul]) but that is less efficient than returning it directly from COLSTATUS when multiple / all collections are listed. That API is also lower level; the proposal here is to elevate this bit of metadata in particular, named something like "creationTime" rather than use ZK terminology that reflects implementation details.

> The COLSTATUS (collection status) admin API does not return the creation time of the collection, which is interesting/useful for diagnostics. This information exists already by virtue of ZooKeeper having a "ctime" metadata in each node. I propose that it be exposed.
