The process of validation of instance documents when document references more 
than one grammar is undefined.
Thus, each tool/processor has different implementation.
If document has both XML Schema and DTD grammars Xerces will attempt to 
validate against both (read docs on features).
The JAXP 1.2 spec and DOM Level 3 Load/Save specify how user can control the 
language against which validation should occur.
We are currently working on the implementation of those standards.
