Indeed, the RFC-6265 has the clarifications regarding empty cookie values, both in grammar  [1] and interpretation [2]. The only unclear part is how to properly map it to Java APIs: usage of *null* is not helpful (since it becomes indistinguishable from absent cookie), usage of empty value "" probably makes more sense. What do you think [~romain.manni-bucau] ? Meanwhile, I will just briefly check what is the take of popular Java libraries in these regards.
