In GEODE-3580, a test was failing because DistributedSystem was used to initiate a reconnect in a JVM in which a Cache had already been started and closed. We should investigate under what situations (particularly with regards to paths using the public API, particularly a reconnect) it is possible to trigger a {{CacheClosedException}} in {{TypeRegistry}}.
