[jira] [Commented] (SOLR-12922) Facet parser plugin for json.facet aka custom facet types

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-12922?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16664713#comment-16664713 ]

Mikhail Khludnev commented on SOLR-12922:
-----------------------------------------

[~dsmiley], facet parser handles facet types. This plugin, let users to introduce own facet types.
[~mgibney], range faceting, that test parser mimics what's discussed in jiras regarding range facets over values. Potential use cases are just wide variety or user specific facet handling logic. I suppose there are more people who can implement own facet handling rather than those who can build patched Solr.

> Why don't introduce a plugin for json facet parsers? Attaching draft patch, it just demonstrate the thing. Test fails, iirc. Opinions?
