[jira] [Created] (AMBARI-6190) /conf symlink issues

Andrew Onischuk created AMBARI-6190:
---------------------------------------

             Summary: /conf symlink issues
                 Key: AMBARI-6190
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-6190
             Project: Ambari
          Issue Type: Bug
            Reporter: Andrew Onischuk
            Assignee: Andrew Onischuk
             Fix For: 1.6.1

>From jplayer. JP, Please add more context. This is from an Ambari 1.5.1 ->
1.6.0 upgrade.

/etc/hadoop/conf and /etc/hive/conf must no longer be physical folders. After
the upgrade to 1.6, Ambari refused to start the service because it was looking
for a symlink. Previous Ambari 1.5 was fine with physical folders. We tried to
delete the folder in the hopes that Ambari would restore it (this is how we
did the migration from Cloudera) but then it complained that it couldn't find
the folder.
