[Bug 124185] New: A missing interactive feature of .ppt file
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=124185
Bug ID: 124185
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: A missing interactive feature of .ppt file
Product: Impress
Version: 4.0.1
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: open-import
Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
Reporter: wwycheuk@gmail.com
CC: issues@openoffice.apache.org
Some interactive features of ppt file are missing. (Please see the attached
file). On page 8 to page 17, if one click on the wrong answer, the slideshow
will jump to the page with a dog (page 19). While clicking on the dog will make
the slideshow jump back to the original page. This behaves correctly in
powerpoint but not in OO.o.

As I already guessed, the Dog-slide has the hyperlink, to go back to the last
slide in history. That action does not exist in OpenOffice. So this is
duplicate to bug 84362.
BTW: The "dog"-slide is hidden. Therefore the "last slide" is the "end"-slide,
and a click on the wrong answer takes you to the "end"-slide instead of the
"dog"-slide.
*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 84362 ***

The original file is too big to upload, so I removed most of its content and
left those just enough to illustrate the problem:
On page 1, click on the wrong answer (other than 'There are very few books')
will make the slideshow jump to the 'dog' page. Click on the dog should make
the slideshow jump back to the original page.

The attached example does not work as described. But I guess it is this
problem: PowerPoint knows an action "to last seen slide", which brings you back
to the last slide in the history order. Apache OpenOffice does not have this
action (missing feature) and therefore it is replaced with the action "to
previous slide", which is the previous slide in the slide order.
There is a general request for implementing a history for hyperlinks in bug
5608.
The missing action in impress is already tracked in bug 84362.
