[jira] [Commented] (BIGTOP-2528) provisioner fails to add short host name

Evans Ye commented on BIGTOP-2528:
----------------------------------

Hey [~oflebbe] this must be on me.
I guess we have two ways to fix it.
* Explicitly setup the hostname to be foobar1.bigtop.apache.org by issueing *$ hostname foobar1.bigtop.apache.org*
* Make our puppet script to be able to recognize short hostname as well

Either way need to do some experiment for me. Do you have any input?

> Hadoop HDFS does not start, since the puppet scripts generate short hostnames which are not in /etc/hosts and not known / configured by Docker DNS either.
> And BTW: Yes I removed the debug flag from the puppet output, since it is very clumsy to scroll back and find error messages kilometers / miles away back in the output. And it does not help as a progress meter since the time spent by update
