nbsp not showing up right in MSMincho

Hi,

Has anyone ever tried to use Japanese MSMincho font? It's working mostly fine for me except for that I'm getting strange character "]" for nbsp in the PDF.

I noticed that there were some recent posts about similar problems. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Thanks,

Fe

Re: non breakable space

Posted by Petr Andrs <pa...@artax.karlin.mff.cuni.cz>.
OK, I will try to clarify it. In my language some one-letter
prepositions are prohibited to stand alone at end of line. So i want to
use unbreakable space to diallow breaking line between such a
preposition and following word. Usage of unbreakable space is common
thing in most word processors and even in HTML. How can I achieve this
behavior in FO markup? When I tried using entity which works in
HTML i got SAXParser exception complaining about that saying "The
entity "nbsp" was referenced, but not declared."

When i used entity which is unode char which represents
unbreakable space it is rendered as square. Can anybody help, please?

PS.: I am using CVS snapshot from May 18, my FOs are coded using UTF-8
and I am using TTF embedding. Acrobat 4.05 i used for displaying
results.

But presumably you already knew that since it was in the message you quoted.
Maybe I don't understand what you are asking.

When in doubt, check http://xml.apache.org/websrc/cvsweb.cgi/xml-fop/. You
most definitely can find org.apache.fop.system in CVS. :-)

Perhaps you are not creating missing directories when you 'cvs update'?

The code *is* trying to import this code - but it doesn't seem to
be in cvs. I can't find any org.apache.fop.system code in cvs
so it perhaps it hasn't been committed properly?
Who commited your memory patch?

cvs build

Can someone confirm whether or not fop from the latest CVS builds successfully?

It seems to be looking for a

org.apache.fop.system.BufferManager

class which I can't find.

Admitted I haven't deleted all my source before doing the checkout but I
don't *think* that is the problem.

Thanks!

Alex

This reminds me a problem I had. How can I express unbreakable space in
