[jira] [Created] (HADOOP-18513) ABFS: Support client-side encryption

Burns Smith created HADOOP-18513:
------------------------------------

             Summary: ABFS: Support client-side encryption
                 Key: HADOOP-18513
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-18513
             Project: Hadoop Common
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: fs/azure
    Affects Versions: 3.3.4
Environment: ABFS is running inside an [Intel SGX enclave|https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_Guard_Extensions].  Data encryption keys cannot leave the enclave.
            Reporter: Burns Smith

ABFS currently supports [customer-provided keys|https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/customer-provided-keys-with-azure-storage-service-encryption/], but does not support [client-side encryption|https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/storage/blobs/client-side-encryption?tabs=dotnet]. With client-side encryption, the encryption key never leaves the client.
