Issue happens only with "tez.runtime.intermediate-output.compress.codec = org.apache.hadoop.io.compress.DefaultCodec" and "tez.runtime.intermediate-output.should-compress=true".
Didn't find any shuffle errors (mentioned in this JIRA / subtasks) when using SnappyCodec or when turning off intermediate compression.
