New ServiceMix 3 Spring IDE extension
Devs,
I've started using ServiceMix recently and was frustrated by trying to
edit the XBean config files in Spring IDE. I first wrote a Spring IDE
extension for ActiveMQ, then added ServiceMix support to it. Being
relatively new to ServiceMix, I was wondering if any of the developers
here would like to help me test and refine the extension. So far the
extension just supports basic Spring IDE integration (XSD-based
completion and integration with the Beans explorer) but I'd really
like to add the context-sensitive content assist for attribute values.
This isn't hard to implement, I'm just not sure what makes sense to
try and discover (e.g. do I query the ServiceMix server for available
services, etc...).
I started with ServiceMix 3, but want to make sure that 4 will be
supported.
I'm also going to start working on an eclipse server definition that
will add the SM runtime to eclipse projects and allow the start/stop/
publish mechanism to work without requiring maven or manual build
steps. That's not difficult either, just a little time-consuming.
I'd love to get some feedback on this extension if anyone's
interested. Shoot me an email and I'll send you the updatesite link
(I'm hosting it myself at the moment, so don't want to use up all my
bandwidth :).
Thanks!
