[jira] Commented: (FOR-364) Add Ctrl-C-Info to Jetty Startup-Messages
[ http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FOR-364?page=comments#action_12312737 ]
Ferdinand Soethe commented on FOR-364:
--------------------------------------
I tried to find an alternative solution but I found that
- Micr_soft no longer supports the break-command under win32 so that
we cannot suppress Ctrl-C aborting the batch file and so far I also
found no option to make that query optional.
- The documentation for the jetty's server lists no option to
stop the server other than Ctrl-C or calling a certain port.
So I guess adding some OS-specific text for MS-systems like I
suggested is really the only option to deal with confusing query.

> Key: FOR-364

> Project: Forrest
> Type: Improvement
> Components: Launch 'forrest run'
> Reporter: Ferdinand Soethe
> Priority: Minor
>
> At the moment it is guesswork how to properly end a "forrest run" session. Even more confusing that Ctrl-C (the only way to do it) will also trigger the query if you want to abort batch processing.
> A short info that is written just before the server is active should inform the user about the proper procedure:
> "To stop the Forrest/Jetty server, press Ctrl-C, answer [N]o to the following question and press Enter to confirm."
